Studio Versions

So I got the chance to listen to the studio versions of this week's Andrew Lloyd Weber songs.

Wow!

Without exception (excepting Carly, of course) they are absolutely fantastic.

Brooke sounds relaxed in her singing while still infusing the song with all the emotion that it demands.

Jason doesn't breathe noisily into the mic and delivers an unusual but moving take on a very well known song.

David Cook delivers a beautiful and moving straight-up version of Music of the Night.

David Archuleta twists his song almost beyond recognition, but somehow maintains the required reverence for it so that at the end, whether you love or hate the arrangement, you have to show respect for him.

Carly is gone. Hooray!

You can buy the studio versions of these songs on iTunes. I am not going to encourage anybody to simply go over to YouTube and search for "[artist name] studio version" and then enjoy all of them free of charge. Please do not do that. It is not appropriate.
